MDPH renewal application: when to send it and what to fill in
The short answer
Apply for renewal about 6 months before your rights end. If nothing has changed, parts A and E of the form are enough, with a medical certificate less than a year old. If things have changed, fill in part B as well.
When to apply
MDPH rights have an end date, shown on the decision letter. Renewal is not automatic: you have to send a new application, with the same form as a first application.
Mon parcours handicap advises applying 6 months before the end date. Processing often takes several months: applying late risks a gap.
For RQTH status, Service-Public says 4 months before the end, and notes that applying extends your RQTH until the decision (Service-Public).
Tip. Put the end date of each right in your calendar, with a reminder 7 months before to book a doctor’s appointment.
Our MDPH deadlines calculator works out these dates from the end of your rights and adds them to your calendar.
What to fill in
Page 1 of the form distinguishes two cases (CERFA 15692):
| Your situation | Fill in |
|---|---|
| Nothing has changed, you want the same rights | Parts A and E |
| Your medical, family or administrative situation, or your plans, have changed | The whole form, including part B |
Even for a renewal with no change, you can fill in part B if you want the MDPH to have an up-to-date picture of your daily life.
Documents
As for a first application (Mon parcours handicap):
- a medical certificate less than 12 months old, the original;
- your ID document and proof of address.
If nothing has changed, your doctor can fill in a simplified certificate: three questions at the top of the certificate allow it. See the medical certificate.
The simplified procedure
On page 4, a box lets you ask for a simplified procedure for a renewal with no change. In exchange, you cannot be heard by the CDAPH, the committee that decides. Tick it only if you are sure you do not want to be heard.
Rights granted for life
Some rights can be granted with no end date when the disability cannot improve:
- the AAH, for an incapacity rate of at least 80% (Service-Public);
- RQTH status (Service-Public).
If you think this applies to you, explain precisely in the application why your situation is lasting, and talk about it with your doctor.
If your rights end soon
If your rights end in less than 2 months, tick the fast processing box on page 3 and give the rights and their end dates. See the MDPH fast-track.
An old disability or parking card?
Cards issued before the mobility inclusion card stop being valid after 31 December 2026. You replace them the same way as a renewal, with a complete application: see our guide to the mobility inclusion card.
If the new decision does not suit you
Rights granted for less time than before, a right not renewed: you have 2 months to challenge it. See our guide to challenging an MDPH decision, with a sample letter.
Your renewal ready in one go
DossierMalin asks whether your situation has changed and only asks the questions that matter, in English. The official French form is filled in for you.
