About DossierMalin and our guides

Why DossierMalin exists

An MDPH application, a sick leave extension or a doctor’s visit often depends on what you managed to write or say. Many people fill in these papers tired, anxious or alone, and forget what matters most. It is even harder when French is not your first language. DossierMalin helps you describe your real situation, clearly and completely, in English, and hands you the documents in French.

The questionnaires are free to fill in, and the guides on this site are free to read. Only some final documents are paid for, when you download them.

Who we are

DossierMalin, a Fillfold solution, is an independent project. We are not a government body, an MDPH or a health professional, and none of the organisations we mention pays us. You can write to us at [email protected], in English or in French.

What we do not do

  • We give no medical advice and make no diagnosis.
  • We never fill in the medical certificate: it is your doctor’s document.
  • We promise no outcome: the MDPH, or your doctor, decides.
  • We never help anyone obtain unjustified sick leave or an unjustified certificate.

How we write our guides

  • Official texts first. Every rule comes from an official source: CERFA forms, Mon parcours handicap, the CNSA, the Journal officiel. Each guide lists its sources, with links. Most of them are in French.
  • Charities and associations next. Practical advice comes from guides published by resource centres and associations, named in each guide.
  • One question per guide. Each guide starts with a short answer, then goes into detail.
  • Paperwork, never illnesses. Our guides explain how to fill in an application; they do not discuss diagnosis or treatment.
  • No guesswork. When two sources disagree, we say so, and point you to the body that has the final word.

Review

We are working to have our guides reviewed by professionals: social workers, doctors, associations of people concerned. When a guide has been reviewed, the reviewer is named at the top of the page.

Updates

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. We review them at least once a year, and straight away when a rule or a form changes. The English guides follow the French ones.
